The program offers both one-on-one and group tutoring sessions to support students academically.
The Mission Possible Mentor Program pairs freshman students with upper-level students to share experiences and ease the transition to college life.
Academic Support Services
The SEEK Academic Support Center provides holistic support to students to foster successful adjustment to college, skills development and mastery of course content to support higher levels of course completion and persistence.
Eligibility & Requirements
- SEEK students are required to participate in a specified number of sessions per semester based on their class standing
- Generally freshmen and students on probation are required to attend more sessions of tutoring per semester
- Non-compliance with program guidelines may result in the loss of program benefits
Application & Assignment
- Students must apply, indicating subject need and availability.
- Students are assigned to a tutor; walk-in tutoring also available.
- Students must complete and sign a contract of participation to commence tutoring.
Tutoring Details
- Subjects: Math, English, Sciences, Business, Management, Law, Humanities, Social Sciences, Foreign Languages, Learning Skills, Professional Development, and Study Lab.
- Hours: 9:00am – 6:30pm.
- ocations: Carroll Street Building, Room 221 & The Tutoring Center, Room 218.
SEEK Peer Mentor Program
- Implemented in 2009, the SEEK Peer Mentorship program was designed to help SEEK freshmen navigate the college system
- Freshmen complete the Mission Possible contract, which serves as a dynamic self-reflection tool, facilitating freshmen students’ discovery of and adjustment to college
Who are Peer Mentors?
- Upper class SEEK students who have successfully completed introductory SEEK Counseling courses and the Mission Possible Contract
- Mentors are model students who perform multiple roles such as academic coaching, role modeling, guiding through the Mission Possible contract, facilitating resources, and representing SEEK in various events.
