Why SEEK?

The SEEK program is offered at senior (four-year) CUNY colleges to New York State residents who do not meet traditional admissions criteria but demonstrate potential for academic success. SEEK gives students up to five years if academic support and supplementary financial assistance to ensure they are supported throughout their matriculation. Students can pursue ANY major at the baccalaureate or associate level to be in the SEEK program.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT

Professional tutors, coaches and mentors support students outside the classroom to assist them with achieving and maintaining a high academic performance. Students attend tutoring and workshops ranging from study skills and money management to career preparation.

COUNSELING AND ADVISEMENT

Our skilled counselors collaborate with all academic divisions to meet the needs of students. Through SEEK, students are empowered to become independent learners and critical thinkers.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Students receive various financial support to aid them in non tuition expenses. These include support for transportation, textbooks, and supplies.

SEEK IS OPEN TO:

  • NYS residents who have lived in the state for at least one year prior to entering college.
  • NYS high school diploma recipient or GED recipient.
  • First-time Freshman or transferring student from another opportunity program (SEEK, CD, EOP, HEOP).
  • Student who has successfully completed the Bridge Experience.
  • Student who meet the gross family income set by New York State guidelines.
