Dr. Jessica Rivera, Academic Support Coordinator/Special Programs/SEEK Medgar Evers College, CUNY

Jessica C. Rivera earned a Doctorate in Education from Walden University in August 2021 and a postdoc Certificate in Advanced Education Leadership from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education in May 2023. During the day, she uses her superpower of Visionary Leadership to serve as an Academic Program Manager for a higher education opportunity program and her alma mater, the SEEK Program at Medgar Evers College. And at night, she serves as an Education Consultant for community-based organizations, city agencies, and school districts nationwide, including New York City’s Department of Education (NYC DOE), Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), & Los Angeles United Schools District (LAUSD). In both capacities, she enjoys working directly with vulnerable, at-risk, and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) students within the K-16 spectrum. Her daily mantra is “You are who you want to be”; she believes individuals can overcome circumstances and systemic inequities through the virtues they practice.
