Transition Academy Featured on PIX-11 News

Medgar Evers College’s Transition Academy, and its effort to help students who struggle with food insecurity, was featured on November 18, 2019 on PIX11 News at 10. PIX11 visited several food pantries, including the Cougar Country Food Pantry, for a story on food insecurity in New York City. The news crew interviewed interim dean of Student Affairs Dr. Alexis McLean, student life specialist Waleek Boone, and student Chivell Mendoza. You can view the story here.

The Transition Academy provides housing or food insecure students with emergency food vouchers, access to an on campus food pantry, clothing, MetroCards, and help finding shelter in Brooklyn.
