Seniors Serving Seniors 2018

About 20 seniors, who live at Ebbets Field apartments, feasted on a traditional Thanksgiving meal courtesy of students at Medgar Evers College. Seniors Serving Seniors, held annually at the College in celebration of Thanksgiving, captures MEC’s mission to be of service to others in the community. For three years, MEC has hosted the afternoon lunch that gives students an opportunity to serve and spend time with their guests.  One of MEC’s Step Teams, Black Diamonds, performed for the seniors.   Additionally, gifts were raffled off including tickets to the ABC morning show Live with Kelly and Ryan and Turkeys, courtesy of The Municipal Credit Union (MCU).

The Office of Student Life and Development sponsored the event through its Engagement and Volunteerism initiative. The Department of Special Programs/SEEK and the MEC chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success were co-sponsors. MCU partnered with the college and supplied gift bags and turkeys for the seniors.

NY1 covered the event.
