Medgar Evers College Welcomes President Ramsey to Campus!

On Monday, May 10, 2021, the Medgar Evers College family welcomed President Patricia Ramsey to campus. CUNY Chancellor Félix V. Matos Rodríguez joined her for this special day, and together they toured the highlights of our campus and made a few meaningful stops along the way.

The day kicked off with a photo op in the president’s office, followed by a tour of the Charles Evans Inniss Memorial Library. The next stop was Academic Building 1, where they visited the financial simulation lab on the first floor and the nursing labs and classrooms on the second floor. Dr. Ramsey and Chancellor Matos Rodríguez then stopped by the Student Services Building across the street. There they chatted with several student government leaders and visited the Cougar Country Food Pantry.

After a short walk through the neighborhood along Crown Street, they arrived at the final stop on the tour: Brooklyn’s community vaccination site located in MEC’s gymnasium. Dr. Ramsey and Chancellor Matos Rodríguez had the opportunity to see FEMA and U.S. Coast Guard staff members hard at work preparing the vaccines to be administered. The site has provided over 205,000 doses since it first opened in February, and Dr. Ramsey and Chancellor Matos Rodríguez were on hand to recognize this milestone.
