Medgar Evers College President, Dr. Patricia Ramsey, named to exclusive “30 Black Influencers” list
Dr. Patricia Ramsey, the sixth president of Medgar Evers College, was recently named to the New York Christian Times’ “30 Black Influencers” list.
She is the only college president on the list, while also sitting alongside community stalwarts such as the Hons. Adrienne Adams, Alvin Bragg, Eric Adams, Yvette Clarke, Leticia James and Hakeem Jeffries, as well as the Rev. Al Sharpton and legendary musician and business mogul, Shawn Carter.
The list is presented by both the New York Christian Times and the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce.
According to the publication’s story, the list is intended to recognize that “in our modern-day America, as is true across the globe, Blacks have risen to places of immense power and their influence is felt and experienced in every genre of our human society.”
In honoring Dr. Ramsey, the story pointed to three distinct items in why she is an influencer:
- Appointed the sixth president of Medgar Evers College by the City University of New York (CUNY) board of trustees
- First woman and first scientist to serve as president of Medgar Evers College
- Distinguished as a “National Role Model” by Minority Access, Inc.
