MEC Alum Makes Connections

Crisedra Tait, a Medgar Evers College graduate, who was a part of the first cohort of students to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Financial Economics, was invited to attend an event recognizing black women who are leading the way in public finance. MEC class of 2018, attended the panel discussion hosted by Northeast Women in Public Finance (NEWPF) and international law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. Tait was a guest of her supervisor Natasha Holiday, who is the Managing Director of RBC Capital Markets. Holliday was also one of the featured speakers at the event. NEWPF is a not-for-profit professional organization for women who work in private or public sector firms or organizations that are engaged in public finance.

Tait’s current position at RBC Capital Markets is the result of an internship she obtained while still a student at Medgar Evers College. The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) introduced an internship program in 2018 to help diversify the banking industry. Successful completion of a six-month internship in Albany, NY, lead Tait to an additional six-month internship at RBC. She is now an analyst at RBC. DASNY is now accepting applications for this year’s program. Interested students can find more information about the application process in the Career Management Services Department.
