Finding your way around campus at Medgar Evers College

It’s the first day of the 2024-25 school year, and getting around campus can be a bit confusing for freshmen and transfers.

So we thought we’d help out a bit and at least provide you with some visuals to getting to the building you’re looking for.

We have four main buildings at Medgar Evers College: Bedford, S, AB1 and Carroll Street.

Here are images of each building, as well as what you’ll find there:

 

S-building

1637 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn, New York 11225

In the “S-building,” you’ll find an abundance of student success departments, including: 

  • Academic advising center
  • Admissions
  • ASAP
  • Office of the Bursar
  • Career Management Services
  • College Now
  • Dean of Students
  • Financial Aid
  • Freshman Year Program
  • Health Services
  • Registrar
  • SEEK
  • SGA

Bedford Building

1650 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn, New York 11225

In the “Bedford building,” you’ll find the library, cafe and plenty of lounge areas as you look to rest in-between classes. Here’s what you’ll find:

  • Amphitheater
  • Charles Evans Inniss Memorial Library
  • Founders Auditorium
  • Office of Counseling and Psychological Services
  • School of Business
  • School of Education
  • School of Liberal Arts
  • Student computer labs
  • MEC Cafe

 

AB1 Building

1638 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn, New York 11225

The big glass building is also known as AB1, where you’ll find a plethora of your campus needs, including IT and Public Safety. Here’s what else you’ll find:

  • Dining Hall
  • Edison O. Jackson Auditorium
  • Information Technology
  • Public Safety
  • School of Science and Allied Health

 

Carroll Street Building

1150 Carroll Street, Brooklyn, New York 11225

This one is a tiny walk from the main campus on Bedford Ave., but a staple for many students. Check out what you’ll find here:

  • Department of Athletics and Intramurals
  • Caribbean Research Center
  • Gym
  • Human Resources
  • Office of Immigration
  • Male Development and Empowerment Center
  • MEC TV and radio studios
