Service Indicator (Holds / Stops)

You may view your service indicators by logging in to CUNYfirst and visiting the “Tasks and Holds” section of your Student Center page.

All service indicators listed below (except universal Bursar service indictors) are placed by the Office of the Bursar. Any other service indicators are placed by other offices.  Please contact the specified office for details about other service indicators.

 

Service Indicator Description Impact
BCH Bursar Hold: Your balance is past due. Prevents registration at all CUNY colleges.
BCF Do not cancel registration. No negative impact. Prevents course cancellation until assigned expiration date.
BCK Bad check: A personal check or electronic check has been returned due to insufficient funds in the account. Prevents future payments with personal checks or electronic checks.
BHV Collections: Your balance has been transferred to the collections agency Immediate Credit Recovery. This balance must be paid with ICR. Prevents registration. Prevents payment submission to Medgar Evers College.
BIH In-house Collections: Your balance is in pre-collections. This balance will be transferred to a collections agency if it remains unpaid by the assigned deadline. Prevents registration.
BNE Bursar No eCheck. An attempted eCheck payment was not collectible. Prevents the ability to submit an eCheck payment online.
BCK Block Check. An attempted check payment was not collectible Prevents the ability to submit an electronic online.
BNX Bursar No Electronic Payments. Prevents the ability to submit a check payment at the Bursar’s Office
BNP Block Payment Plan access Prevents the ability to enroll in a Nelnet tuition payment plan.
BPE Past Due Payment Enrolled No negative impact
BPP Payment plan. No negative impact. Indicates an active payment plan.
BRF Do not refund: Account review is necessary before a refund could be produced. Prevents refunds from being processed for this account.
BTR Bursar Transcript Hold. Prevents the ability to obtain a transcript.
BTS Collections: Your balance has been transferred to the collections agency TSI. This balance must be paid with TSI. Prevents registration. Prevents payment submission to Medgar Evers College.
BUR Bursar Hold: Your balance is past due. Prevents registration.
BWO Bursar Write-off: Your balance has been written off in CUNYfirst, however, a balance is still owed to Medgar Evers College. Speak with a Bursar representative for details. Prevents registration.
UHV Collections: Your balance from another CUNY institution is in collections. Prevents registration.
UIH Universal In-house Collections: Your balance is in pre-collections with a different CUNY institution. Prevents registration.
UWO Universal Write-off: Your balance with another CUNY institution has been written off in CUNYfirst, however, a balance is still owed to the institution. Speak with the Bursar’s Office at the initiating institution. Prevents Registration
