To become an F-1 student at CUNY Medgar Evers College, you must first apply and be admitted to a degree program. Once accepted, you will receive a Form I-20, which is required to apply for an F-1 visa at a U.S. embassy or consulate. After obtaining your visa, you must pay the SEVIS fee and prepare for your arrival in the U.S. Upon entry, you will attend an international student orientation and maintain full-time enrollment to comply with F-1 regulations. The International Student Services Office is available to guide you through each step of the process.

The International Student Office assists students in obtaining and maintaining F-1 International Student Status in accordance to the rules and regulations of the Student Exchange and visitor Program (SEVP) for the purpose of studying at Medgar Evers College on a short term (usually two or four years) basis.
To become an International Student at Medgar Evers College you first have to complete an application at www.cuny.edu/apply and submit the application with your academic records. Payment can be made online (credit or debit card) or with a bank money order(made out to University Application Processing Center or UAPC) mailed to the address listed on the application. To enter Medgar Evers College for the spring semester (January through May) the application deadline is October 1st, for the fall semester (August through December) the application deadline is February 1st.
You will need to request official transcripts from your secondary/high school and /or university which lists all courses taken and grades earned. If you have completed exams such as GCE’s, CXC’s, West African examination Council (WAEC) and SAT’S.
Note: TOEFL and ILETS examinations results are needed for students coming from countries where English is not their primary language.
