Admission Selection Process Used

CPN Program

Admission to the Practical Nursing Program is based on a first-come, first-served sign-up system through the Office of Admissions. The number of students accepted each semester is determined by the program’s capacity to ensure a high-quality educational experience. The Department of Nursing carefully evaluates enrollment limits to ensure that all admitted students receive the necessary academic support and resources for success in the program.

Please note:

Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.7 throughout the program to remain in good academic standing. Students must achieve a grade of B- or higher in all science courses.

AAS Program

We use a ranking system to evaluate applicants based on the following criteria, in sequential order:

  1. GPA – Your overall academic performance is assessed to determine your readiness for the program. We start with the highest GPA’s
  2. NLN Scores – Your results on the National League for Nursing (NLN) exam help measure your aptitude for nursing education. NLN ranking is cohortly based
  3. Grades in Specific Courses – Performance in key preclinical phase science courses is considered to ensure a strong foundation for success.

This structured approach allows us to fairly and transparently assess academic readiness and potential, ensuring that our selection process upholds the highest standards.

RN to BS Completion Program
