Why SEEK?

The SEEK program is offered at senior (four-year) CUNY colleges to New York State residents who do not meet traditional admissions criteria but demonstrate potential for academic success. SEEK gives students up to five years if academic support and supplementary financial assistance to ensure they are supported throughout their matriculation. Students can pursue ANY major at the baccalaureate or associate level to be in the SEEK program.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT

Our skilled counselors collaborate with all academic divisions to meet the needs of students. Through SEEK, students are empowered to become independent learners and critical thinkers.

COUNSELING AND ADVISEMENT

Mission Possible Mentor Program assigns Freshman students to upper-level students to share experiences that facilitate an easier transition to college. Students attend workshops ranging from study skills and money management to career preparation.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Students receive various financial support to aid them in non tuition expenses. These include support for transportation, textbooks, and supplies.

SEEK IS OPEN TO:

  • Open to entering freshman year students.
  • Students must meet economic criteria to qualify for admission to the program. The Financial Aid Office reviews a student’s family income to determine eligibility.
  • Each student is paired with a professional counselor, who provides individualized academic advisement with personal and vocational development goals to achieve from admission to graduation.
  • SEEK students can take advantage of one-on-one tutoring, small group tutoring, specialized academic workshops, and supplementary instruction.
  • Critical Thinking and College Adjustment seminar workshops for freshman students.
