The School of Business
Department of Business Administration
The mission of the department is to to provide students with the essential knowledge and skills, and develop competencies that they need and to prepare them for: managerial and marketing careers; graduate and/or professional studies; entrepreneurship; and leadership in their communities.
The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Business, a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Applied Management (BPS – AM) and an Associate of Science in Business Administration.
The business courses, programs and degrees provide for advancement in careers. Moreover, they afford students with the opportunity for research, internship, and professional enhancement.
The department, along with the School of Business, has established liaisons with corporate, government and community organizations to help students to achieve their professional goals.
By appropriate course selection and in consultation with an academic advisor, students pursuing the Bachelor of Science in Business may select 15 credit hours or five (5) courses to emphasize a specific career interest in the areas of:
- Computer Information Systems
- Economics;
- Entrepreneurship
- Finance;
- Management; or
- Marketing.
Students who do not wish to choose an emphasis may select a combination of courses up to twelve (12) credits from the Department of Business Administration at the 400 level.
In addition, students who have either completed an associates degree from another institution; an associates degree in a discipline other than business; or are nontraditional students returning to earn a bachelors degree with significant credits to transfer, may pursue the Bachelors of Professional Studies (BPS) in Applied Management, with areas of emphasis in:
- Health Services Administration;
- Social Services Administration; or
