The library will be undergoing a $21.4 million state-of-the-art upgrade, renovation, and expansion, including:
•Expanded space by over 12,000 square feet
•Increased user seating from 203 to 281 seats
•Increased collection capacity from 120,000 to 140,000 volumes
•Increased technology work stations from 24 to 58
•Increased group study rooms from 1 to 7
•Added programs such as Emerging Technology, and Information Literary Classrooms
Goals for the New Library include:
•A Library transformed into a vibrant Learning Commons.
•Increased square footage
•Improved layout and floor spaces
Where to Study during construction
During Construction the library will be moving to the Carroll Building 4th floor.
How to Borrow Books During Construction
•Frequently requested books will be kept on campus
•Other books stored off-site can be requested
Transformation of the Library
Once the library is complete:
•Students will have direct access from 1st, 2nd and Lower levels.
•The lower level will be expanded by 10,000 square feet.
•There will be a welcome center which will be a new vibrant expansion of the Bedford entrance
