Credit Card Policy
Please be advised that, effective September 1, 2008, Master Card, Discovery and American Express will be the ONLY acceptable credit cards, when paying your tuition and fees bill via your E-SIMS account (EDS* Pay system). Visa credit cards are no longer acceptable. Also, under this new policy, there is a non-refundable convenience fee that will be charged to your account in addition to your tuition and fees. This policy is similar to that of many colleges and universities that accept credit cards for tuition payments.
You may also pay your bill with an e-check payment. Similar to a debit card, an e-check electronically debits your checking or savings account. E-check payments may also be made via your E-SIMS account. Additional changes included in this policy change are as follows:
- Credit card payments will no longer be accepted by mail or at the Bursar's window;
- Credit cards cannot be used to pay non-instructional fees (transcripts, re-admission fees, application fees, library fines, etc.). These charges must be paid at the Bursar's Office, using cash, check or money order only.
Medgar Evers College continues to offer an interest free, tuition payment plan option (Tuition Pay Plan by Sallie Mae). For more information, please log on at www.tuitionpay.com/cuny. Regardless of which payment option you choose, you must make your payment no later than the due date on your bill in order to avoid having your registration cancelled.
If you are making a payment by credit card or electronic check for a semester prior to your current semester registration, you must go to "past semester" on your E-SIMS account. Details on payment options may be obtained on the Bursar's Office website at www.mec.cuny.edu/bursar , visiting them in Room S-308/308A or by calling them at the above phone numbers.
The University and College will continue to pursue low-cost, interest free tuition payment options for our students in our efforts to make a world-class education affordable for you and your family.
