Accreditation

 

Medgar Evers College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs, the Council on Social Work Education, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Medgar Evers College's academic programs are registered by the New York State Department of Education. Documentation is available in the Office of Academic Affairs.

Mission

The Office of Accreditation, Quality Assurance, and Institutional Effectiveness is dedicated to supporting the strategic vision of the Office of the President in promulgating a culture of excellence throughout the College.

Vision

The Office of Accreditation, Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness will promote the mission of the College through an ongoing, continuous process of evaluating the quality of the academic and administrative programs at Medgar Evers College.  The Office will monitor the planning and implementation of activities related to recommendations made by relevant bodies which include. The City University of New York, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and the New York State Education Department.  Other specialized accrediting agencies include the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), and National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and other relevant agencies.

History

In recognition of local, national and international trends in education, the Office is charged with the goal of promoting a culture of assessment. This charge promotes the commitment of the College to perform at the highest levels in academics, student support, professional development, and community service. Our students, faculty and community residents both deserve and expect excellence in all areas of service provided by Medgar Evers College.
